GAS Newsletter - Issue 1

When I'm not at the office taking care of PVC, I'm generally in the studio producing and creating. Have you ever heard about GAS: "Gear Acquisition Syndrome? This is commonly understood as the musicians' unrelenting urge to buy and own instruments and equipment as an anticipated catalyst of creative energy and bringer of happiness. - This is definitely something I had to deal with when I started producing.

To avoid GAS, I agreed with myself that I had to master each piece of equipment before buying a new one. It’s tempting to purchase a piece of gear, play around with it for a while, and then get distracted by another device with even cooler effects. Once I get a bit creative with my existing gear, I quickly agree with myself that it’s not necessary to acquire new gadgets. I already have everything I need.

I recently had the pleasure to be featured in the first issue of GAS Newsletter. In this feature I’m talking about that one thing in my studio that I can't live without. I’m sharing some insights about my creative process.

You’ll get to know how this journey of building a hardware setup changed my way of thinking about music in general and what limitations and “keep it simple” means to me.

I hope you’ll enjoy the read. Special thanks to Gianni Kampiotis for reaching out and featuring me in this first edition.
